24 WEEK APPOINTMENT

I had my 24 week appointment with both my Perinatologist and my regular OB this week, along with my Endocrinologist (due to my gestational diabetes) and I'm happy to report that the baby looks PERFECT and I've been told that the pregnancy couldn't be progressing any more beautifully!!! Baby is measuring right at 24 weeks and he's up to 1 lb. and 7 oz. already!!! We didn't get any clear new ultrasound pictures, only one very fuzzy profile picture. He "looks" like he's going to look a LOT like his daddy (poor kid....LOL). My doctors are not in agreement as far as my blood sugar numbers though, as my Endocrinologist wants me on a tiny dose of insulin just in the mornings due to "some" high numbers, but my Perinatologist says we are "not there yet" as far as needing medication. He feels that my high numbers here and there are more of a results of bad food choices than my body's ability to regulate my blood sugar levels. Gosh....who do you you go with when two specialists don't agree? I think for now, I'm going to stick with the recommendation of the Perinatologist and see what happens over the next few weeks. I was handed a folder with a bunch of paperwork for my pre-admission to the hospital for when I give birth....gosh that's scary....I'm remembering Brayden's birth like it was yesterday and I'm soooooo hoping things go smoothly this time. We had a VERY scary experience with his birth! I miss that feeling of never having been through this before and really not knowing what to expect:-)
